Request your free radio code
Enter serial and email, accept the terms and confirm ownership. Our team checks every request and emails you the code. Processing time can vary.
Where is the VWZ number?
The serial starts with VWZ followed by letters and digits, for example VWZ1Z2A1234567. It is on the label on the radio casing. Some units can show it on the display. The number starting with 1K0, 3C0 or 5K0 is the part number and does not help us.

Entering the VW radio code
- Ignition on, radio on. The display shows SAFE.
- Depending on the unit, hold a button until 1000 or ---- appears.
- Set the four digits with preset buttons 1 to 4.
- Confirm with the arrow key, OK or a long press.
After a wrong entry the radio shows SAFE again and locks for a while. Leave the ignition on and wait.
Dealer route
A VW dealer can usually look up the code with the registration papers and ID. That normally costs a fee there. With us the request is free, you only confirm that you are the owner.
